Who We Are
We are a small professional design and photography studio, owned and operated by Stephanie Hobbs and Nikki Craig. The studio is based out of North Vernon, Indiana. Steph's Cover Design provides beautiful and professional book covers to authors all over the world. We are ready when you are to make your world just as amazing on the outside of your book as it is on the inside.
What We Do
We custom design professional print and ebook book covers for all types of authors and publishing companies. We offer Author Branding and event swag in both web and print formats. Upon request we can create custom hand written titles and custom images to ensure you get the look and feel that you want for your cover. Getting a book cover to fit your story and attract the right reader is an important part of marketing your book and we are here to help you accomplish just that!
What We Believe
We believe in trust. We love that you are trusting us to come up with a design that will pull readers to your book. As Authors, a lot of the time we get very wrapped up in our own idea of what our cover should look like. Here at Steph's Cover Design we want you to know before hand that sometimes we can't match a character exactly or create something that doesn't exist outside of your amazing stories. We ask that you trust and know that we will work with you and make sure you are happpy with the final product. We work with what we have but are very willing to get as close as possible to the cover you imagined. We're trusting that you'll let us know if something doesn't fit and we hope you'll trust us when it comes to making choices that are best for the design and sale of your brand new write. The choices that are right for both our business and your book. There's nothing like creating a team while working toward a goal and getting to know our clients and their work in the process! We're so excited to work with, and meet, new and seasoned authors alike.
How We Work
All communication is done mainly via email unless skype or phone communications is requested. After we establish that we are ready to begin the booking process we send a contract and an invoice for the down-payment and we would love to have you fill out a questionaire. This is the most important part of the process. It gives us insight into the look and feel you will be needing for your cover and puts all of your information in one place, making it easier on us once we start the design. We book all of our projects by the month. The month that you booked for, is the month you recieve your design mock up. We usually book a month or two from initial contact so be sure to have plenty of time before your book releases before you contact us about a design. We do require complete creative control and ask that you be very open minded about the design. Once the first draft of your design is created we will send you mock ups to look over and decide if the design is right for your book. We make all changes and send you the files once your final payment has been recieved. After you have your manuscript formatted the final page count will determine the spine width of your book. Once your send us the final page count for your print formatted book we will resize and send your a print quality .pdf.

Stephanie is a 35 yr old wife and mother of three from the small town of North Vernon, Indiana. She's an artist of many mediums, whether creating book covers, digital art, or a beautiful image, she puts her all into everything she creates.
Hi! I'm Steph, I love all things creative, but I started my design journey when I started to write my first novel. There are so many ways to create and I love them all. There's nothing like sitting down under a big fluffy blanket on a cold day with coffee and a good book and I wanted to be a part of all of that. Writing is like giving birth to a new world and the idea that I can help others see your world before they get to dive in and live it, keeps me loving what I do.
Nikki is Steph's right hand. She works virtually and face to face with Stephanie and will be handling emails, billing, customer service, and assisting hands on with custom photo shoots.
Nikki is also a writer, artist, and model.
Please think of her as part of the team!
